Software Dev Intern (AI / Machine Learning)

TL;DR

Software Dev Intern (AI / Machine Learning): Designing and developing scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices in a large distributed computing environment with an accent on building and maintaining resilient distributed systems. Focus on leveraging and contributing to the development of GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity while staying current with emerging technologies.

Location: Must work in office in Berlin, Germany, Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm

What you will do

• Collaborate with experienced hirify.globalians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services.
• Design and develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
• Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective.
• Leverage and contribute to the development of GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields.
• Demonstrated experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Demonstrated experience with data structures implementation, basic algorithm development, or object-oriented design principles.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience in GenAI and Agent service development using LLM/VLM.
• Previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience.
• Experience with AI tools for development productivity, cloud platforms (preferably AWS), or database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
• Contributing to open-source projects or version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
