TL;DR

Associate Backend Engineer: Building and maintaining scalable backend services using JVM languages in a microservices architecture with an accent on authorization, invoicing, notifications and user management. Focus on designing well-tested, maintainable code and ensuring high availability, performance and security of the services.

Location: Must be based in the UK

Copper is building the standard for institutional digital asset infrastructure with a focus on custody, collateral management, and prime services.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable backend services in a microservices architecture.
  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and QA engineers on new features.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain the quality of our products.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of the services you own.
  • Support and solve problems from clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience building software with a JVM language: Scala, Kotlin, or Java.
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs.
  • An understanding of the critical importance of testing, well-versed and able to build automated tests of server-side code.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Capacity to adapt in a fast changing environment.

  • Experience working within microservice based architecture.
  • Possessing an understanding of distributed systems.
