Salary: $157,000-$235,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate critical and scalable services (user identity, friend graph, core persistence layer).
• Collaborate with teams to understand product requirements and deliver innovative solutions.

• Advocate for and apply best practices in availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.

Requirements

• Experience with backend services or distributed systems.
• Proven track record of operating highly-available systems at significant scale.
• Ability to independently execute on medium-sized features.
• Understanding of system operational aspects and participation in incident resolution.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical work experience.
• 2+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience (or Master’s + 1 year, or PhD).
• Experience working with distributed systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, C++, and/or Python.
• Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services.
