What you will do

• Design and operate high-scale, high-performance systems processing billions of events through near-real-time and offline pipelines.
• Build data applications that directly impact Microsoft Ads’ double-digit annual growth.
• Collaborate with BingAds stakeholders to determine requirements for new features and create system designs.
• Implement features with high efficiency, extensibility, diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Maintain operations of live services on a rotational, on-call basis, identifying solutions and mitigations.
• Profile and analyze distributed system performance and capacity bottlenecks, proposing and implementing solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Must live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. and be expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or 5+ years of relevant technical engineering experience.
• Experience in Azure.
• Experience in machine learning and online system design, implementation, and qualification.
• 2+ years’ experience in Distributed Systems and Big Data Technologies such such as Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Kafka, Flink, and Scala.
