TL;DR

Python Software Engineer (Python): Building and optimizing high-load backend services for a distributed data platform that powers API integration channels with an accent on API design, database performance, and scalability. Focus on designing, developing, and testing new product features, improving reliability, and working on scalability and performance improvements.

Location: Hybrid in Utrecht, Netherlands. Must have EU citizenship or a valid work permit for the Netherlands and be available to work from the Utrecht office at least 2 days per week. Preferably already living in the Netherlands.

Salary: Gross monthly salary ranging from € 3.900 to € 5.400 based on a 40-hour work week.

What you will do

• Contribute to Python components and support new marketplace APIs.
• Design, develop, and test new product features.
• Collaborate with product management, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.
• Improve the reliability and robustness of the application.
• Work on scalability and performance improvements.
• Own feature or project implementation from initial design to production delivery.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience developing applications in Python.
• At least 2 years of experience working with web APIs and related technologies.
• Good understanding of HTTP and REST / GraphQL frameworks.
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (Postgres).
• Good working knowledge of Linux, git, and the command-line.
• EU citizenship or a valid work permit for the Netherlands is required.
• Available for at least 32 hours a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with concurrent applications (asyncio).
• Experience with distributed systems.
• DevOps mentality.
• Experience with the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mirmir).
