Senior Software Engineer, Network Performance & Reliability

Location: Hybrid; available location is Austin, Texas, United States. An in-person interview may be required at a hirify.global office or hub during the offer stage.

What you will do

• Build and extend network software infrastructure for Argo and hirify.global products including CDN, Spectrum, Magic Transit, Stream, Workers, R2, and WARP.
• Translate requirements from Engineering teams into new platform capabilities.
• Partner with Network Engineering and SRE to use the edge network effectively.
• Design, document, implement, test, deploy, and monitor production systems.
• Use Rust, Go, Linux networking, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Grafana, Kubernetes, and AI-powered tools in daily engineering work.
• Take ownership of system health and participate in the team's on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Systems-level programming experience in Go, Rust, C, or C++.
• Strong understanding of Layer 3 and Layer 4 networking protocols, HTTP, TLS, and CDN networks.
• Experience implementing secure, highly available distributed systems.
• Experience monitoring, alerting on, and debugging large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience participating in an on-call rotation and an interest in network performance monitoring and tuning.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, plus willingness to integrate AI tools into the engineering workflow.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of TCP/IP and Internet routing.
• Professional Rust systems-programming experience.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, control theory, tools and APIs, or AI-assisted development tools.
