Merchandising Designer

TL;DR

Merchandising Designer: Responsible for the design and development of merchandise at hirify.global with an accent on apparel, mission patches, soft goods, and tech items. Focus on working closely with engineers and cross-functional departments to deliver designs that meet customer and employee needs, while contributing to excite the public about space travel.

Location: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Salary: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

What you will do

• Collaborate with the merchandise team to design new products, using key company milestones to inform design strategy.
• Design customer gifting items, including mission patches, signing gifts, and product for conferences and event-specific gifts.
• Own the product design process from initial design to production hand off.
• Design and maintain tech packs, fit charts, color standards, and fabric specifications.
• Assist in developing graphics, typography, and layouts for social, web, and print.
• Be a key stakeholder in the development of the brand’s identity through merchandising.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in design or artistic field.
• 5+ years of experience working in product and graphic and merchandise design.
• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed, with occasional travel to events.

Nice to have

• Impressive design portfolio including merchandise and graphic designs.
• Highly organized, detail oriented and possess a proven ability to thrive under deadline pressure and to execute on several projects simultaneously.
• Advanced knowledge using graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (including, but not limited to InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
• Strong aptitude for trend and design; exceptional design aesthetic and experience working with a fashion/apparel brand preferred.
