Security Architect

TL;DR

Security Architect: Advising and shaping secure-by-design architectures across digital products, cloud platforms, data solutions, and connected hardware with an accent on compliance with European regulations and security roadmaps. Focus on designing secure systems, threat modelling, risk management, and cross-domain collaboration in a hybrid role based in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.

Location: Hybrid role based in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands with minimum one day per week onsite

What you will do

• Define and implement security architecture standards aligned with business and European regulatory requirements including the Cyber Resilience Act.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security by design from concept to deployment across software, cloud, and hardware.
• Participate actively in the architecture community to promote security awareness and best practices.
• Maintain awareness of emerging threats and conduct risk assessments and threat modelling.
• Work closely with Group Information Security Officer to align strategies and governance.
• Foster cross-domain and international collaboration to ensure consistent security practices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Information Security as a Security Architect or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP) and European regulations (RED Delegated Act, Cyber Resilience Act).
• Expertise in threat modelling, secure coding, security architecture, and risk management.
• Familiarity with cryptography and secure software practices including secure boot, OTA, SBOM, mobile and cloud security.
• Solid English communication skills for effective work in international teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded systems and electronics.
• Experience with cloud services and wireless standards (BLE, 4G/5G, Wi-Fi, ZigBee/Matter).
