What you will do

• Own and evolve the architecture of the Core Customer Platform (catalog, subscriptions, checkout, payments, order management).
• Design and implement scalable distributed systems balancing reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Lead technical strategy for service decomposition, data modeling, and API design across product domains.
• Shape and evolve shared infrastructure patterns (observability, messaging, caching, data pipelines).
• Partner with Product and Data teams to enable seamless and secure customer experiences.
• Mentor and guide senior engineers in system design and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in backend and distributed systems architecture.
• Proven track record designing, building, and operating large-scale event-driven systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS).
• Experience architecting core e-commerce or transactional platforms (catalog, checkout, subscriptions, payments, fulfillment).
• Strong proficiency in microservice architectures, API design, data modeling, and consistency strategies.
• Deep understanding of event sourcing, CQRS, and domain-driven design principles.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS preferred), container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Proficiency in Node.js, Kotlin, Go, Python, or Java and data technologies (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch).
• Strong foundation in observability, operational excellence, CI/CD, testing, and release management.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with a passion for mentorship and technical leadership.
