What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy large-scale distributed systems and high-throughput data pipelines using Go and cloud-native technologies.
• Lead architectural decisions focusing on data flow, performance, and resilience.
• Contribute high-quality code and reduce technical debt to meet reliability and scalability SLAs.
• Champion best engineering practices including code quality, testing, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering teams, and R&D management to define technical roadmap and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Must have 8+ years backend engineering experience with 3+ years architecting high-load systems or data pipelines.
• Expertise in distributed systems using Go, Java, Rust, or Python.
• Strong hands-on experience with relational and analytical databases, preferably Postgres and ClickHouse.
• Proven experience with microservices, containers, Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD.
• Ability to combine hands-on coding with architectural leadership and performance optimization.
• Location: Must be based in or able to work remotely from UK, Ireland, Estonia, Netherlands, Sweden, Israel, East Europe, or Portugal.

Nice to have

• Deep Golang expertise.
• Strong Kubernetes knowledge.
• Experience with Spark, Trino, Iceberg, Parquet, ClickHouse, DBT.
• DBA background in relational, OLAP, or columnar databases.
• Expertise in telemetry and time series data.
• Cloud expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
