Location: Remote from Ireland

Salary: €120,000–€150,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead, support, and grow a high-performing team of 6–8 distributed platform engineers.
• Own the reliability, scalability, and availability of the storage services that underpin dbt Cloud.
• Ensure Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles are deeply embedded in how the team builds and deploys infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Terraform-based automation.
• Partner with product, architecture, and other engineering teams to deliver key initiatives.
• Guide the evolution of core storage platforms—including PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
• Drive high-quality execution by facilitating clear communication, strong incident response practices, and sound technical decision-making.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on technical management experience leading engineering teams.
• Experience overseeing platform, infrastructure, or storage-focused engineering work.
• Strong technical understanding of modern infrastructure practices, including IaC tooling such as Terraform.
• Experience coordinating multi-team or cross-functional engineering initiatives.
• Must be based in Ireland.

Nice to have

• Experience operating or scaling PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, or similar storage technologies.
• Hands-on experience designing or managing cloud infrastructure with Terraform or other IaC frameworks.
• Background in running distributed systems in cloud environments.
• Experience at a high-growth startup or in a fast-scaling engineering organization.
