Senior Software Engineering Manager (Reliability Tooling): Managing and enabling a geographically distributed team of engineers to build and optimize tooling for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with an accent on reliability best practices for programming, observability, and incident resolution. Focus on driving strategic scalability, observability, and reliability initiatives and influencing architecture decisions for resilience and scalability.

Location: Hybrid in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland

What you will do

  • Enable a geographically distributed team of talented engineers to perform at a high level.
  • Drive day-to-day operations and contribute to the SRE roadmap for major initiatives.
  • Create and drive strategic organization-wide scalability, observability, and reliability initiatives.
  • Influence architecture decisions for team and individual services to optimize resilience and scalability.
  • Guide teams to build and maintain reliable and available systems for hirify.global customers.
  • Facilitate professional growth by mentoring engineers on your team.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience managing or leading an Internal tools team, including hiring and mentoring.
  • Hands-on coding experience with Java/JVM required, plus one or more of Kotlin, Go, or Python.
  • Background in leading complex engineering projects in a Scrum environment.
  • Experience in building and running distributed systems.
  • Exposure to networking, cloud architectures, and patterns.
  • Deep understanding of systems, networking, and scaling issues.
