TL;DR

Staff Platform Engineer (Backend): Building and maintaining scalable, performant, and reliable cloud platform solutions with an accent on platform architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence. Focus on designing cost-optimized Azure cloud platforms, Kubernetes container orchestration, and driving SRE practices across the organization.

Location: Hybrid with 2 days per week in Cardiff office required

What you will do

  • Set objectives, ideate features, develop and measure platform solutions
  • Make architectural decisions and design platform domains and systems
  • Define and evolve team processes and practices
  • Build and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines and robust DevOps practices
  • Utilize various infrastructure to ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Mentor and coach engineers, sharing knowledge across the organization

Requirements

  • Location: Must work hybrid with presence in Cardiff office 2 days per week
  • Experience in agile teams delivering highly available, scalable consumer-facing solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Azure cloud platform and well-architected principles
  • Expertise in Kubernetes container orchestration at scale
  • Experience with SRE practices including observability, performance optimization, and security
  • Proficiency in software development lifecycle, testing, version control, and deployment strategies
