What you will do

• Spearhead the development of scalable, secure, and well-architected products and platforms, delivering exceptional outcomes efficiently.
• Act as a multi-faceted leader, leveraging influence and technical expertise to align with long-term organisational goals.
• Engage in applied engineering by transforming strategic direction into tangible technology and viable engineering approaches.
• Oversee technical work across multiple development teams to reduce duplication and enhance collaboration.
• Partner with and enable engineering leaders, mentoring engineers to foster their technical growth and independence.
• Conduct research on relevant technologies, identifying opportunities for incorporation and keeping applications up-to-date and efficient.
• Address technical blockers and identify process improvements, proposing and implementing solutions for faster iteration.
• Guide and collaborate with the Developer Community to define software development standards meeting security and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Proficient knowledge of software testing frameworks and strategies is essential.
• Proficient knowledge of CI/CD and associated release strategies is essential.
• Proficient knowledge of secure development strategies is essential.
• Proficient knowledge of Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is essential.
• Experience with Microservices patterns/framework.
• Technical knowledge of Java or other JVM languages, Angular or other Javascript frameworks, and AWS.
• Experience in contributing to and influencing technical direction is essential.
• Experience in setting technical direction and providing effective engineering perspectives.
• Experience guiding, coaching and mentoring colleagues is essential.
