What you will do

• Deliver clean, maintainable backend features and resolve end-to-end issues ensuring alignment with standards and customer value
• Contribute to technical debt strategy and maintain secure, resilient, and scalable systems
• Define and implement effective test strategies prioritizing security, usability, and accessibility
• Participate in code reviews focusing on performance, maintainability, resiliency, and security
• Promote continuous improvement and foster a collaborative team culture including mentoring junior engineers
• Research and integrate emerging technologies to inspire innovation

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in London, UK
• At least 3 years backend development experience with Node or JVM frameworks
• Strong knowledge of modern architecture patterns including REST microservices and React fundamentals
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines
• Proven ability to solve complex engineering challenges and lead technical workshops
• Good understanding of software architecture, threat modelling, and observability practices
