What you will do

• Lead delivery of new data solutions and features, including design, development, testing, and operational stability.
• Manage and guide a team of engineers through the full software development lifecycle.
• Ensure secure coding practices and address code vulnerabilities and PEN testing resolutions.
• Deliver functional and non-functional requirements in collaboration with product owners.
• Solve technical problems rapidly and implement software engineering best practices.
• Work with modern cloud data stacks and integrate advanced AI and ML capabilities.

Requirements

• Location: Must be able to work hybrid with presence in Manchester office
• Experience in data engineering on cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) with batch and streaming processing.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java.
• Knowledge of orchestration tools (Composer, DAGs), data processing (Kafka, Flink, DataFlow, dbt), and databases (BigQuery, CloudSQL, BigTable).
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Strong leadership skills with experience leading technical teams.
• English proficiency: at least B2 level

Nice to have

• Experience with telephony platforms.
• GCP Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certifications.
• Understanding of data security, privacy, and architectural implications.
• Familiarity with QA and software quality tools like SonarQube.
• Passion for AI, machine learning, and modern data technologies.
