TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (AI/ML): Building and optimizing data and analytics solutions for the bank's telephony channel with an accent on delivering new solutions, ensuring operational stability, and secure coding practices. Location: Hybrid working in Manchester, UK (at least two days per week, or 40% of time, at the office).

Salary: £70,929 – £78,810

What you will do

• Lead all aspects of delivery for new solutions and features, creating low-detail designs and ensuring adherence to group standards.
• Guide and work alongside a talented group of engineers throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Ensure applications and code align with security principles, secure coding practices, and address vulnerabilities.
• Solve technical problems at pace, identify and implement software engineering best practices.
• Work with modern tech, data stacks, and cloud-based architectures.
• Manage foundational data solutions alongside the adoption of advanced AI and ML capabilities.

Requirements

• Experienced Software/Data Engineer with a recent focus on developing data and analytics solutions on cloud platforms (e.g. GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Deep technical expertise in software and data engineering, including programming languages (Python, Java).
• Significant experience in scoping and development of technical solutions in an Agile environment.
• Understanding of orchestration (Composer, DAGs), data processing (Kafka, Flink, DataFlow, dbt), and database capabilities (BigQuery, CloudSQL, BigTable, SQL, Oracle).
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), IaaC (Terraform), and cloud platforms such as GCP.
• Detailed understanding of automated CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, Harness.
• Experience of leading a team (technical and non-technical).

Nice to have

• Experience with telephony platforms.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud technologies (ICP, Azure).
• GCP Data Engineer/Cloud Architect certifications.
• Good appreciation of data security and privacy.
• Experience with modern progressive technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence.
