Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

Location: Fully remote in a fully distributed team

What you will do

• Design and implement custom REST API services and backend application infrastructures.
• Create SQL and NoSQL database schemas and optimize queries for performance.
• Implement business logic and coordinate data schemas with frontend and data engineers.
• Build deployment and CLI pipelines in coordination with DevOps engineers.
• Ensure scalability, flexibility, maintainability, and code quality through appropriate tools and principles.
• Communicate proactively with colleagues, conduct code reviews, and support team members in achieving their goals.

Requirements

• Fluent English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong experience with Python, pyenv, PIP, and a Python IDE such as PyCharm.
• Expertise building APIs with FastAPI or a similar framework.
• Expertise with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or TimescaleDB, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience with Git, GitHub Actions, continuous integration, and pipeline definition.
• Experience with Redis, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, Celery, Docker, Docker Compose, DevOps, Agile environments, and working effectively under pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
• University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
