Senior Backend Engineer (Python): Building and optimizing modular, scalable, and performant backend systems with an accent on API design, software engineering best practices, and identifying root causes of system issues. Location: Hybrid, with encouragement to work at least 2 days a week in London, Athens, or Cyprus offices. 45 work-from-anywhere days per year.

What you will do
- Create and design modular, scalable, testable, and performant systems which interface via well-defined endpoints.
- Identify root causes of system issues and determine short and long-term resolutions.
- Adapt to building new and novel products, shipping fast and iterating based on feedback.
- Work and intervene across the entire software development lifecycle.
- Provide guidance to and mentor more junior team members.
- Share product insights with stakeholders and challenge product decisions.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of working experience as a Software Engineer.
- High level of pragmatism and strong planning and prioritization skills.
- Experience in working within a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational challenges.
- Comfortable working with both strongly and dynamically typed languages, including Python.
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skills.
