Ostrom

📍 Berlin (Hybrid) - based or willing to relocate. We won't let distance get in the way, we offer visa and relocation support.

Ostrom is building Europe’s leading energy management platform, making fair and clean energy accessible for everyone. A fast-growing, diverse team (50+ people, 16+ nationalities), €40M+ raised — now hiring a People & Culture Lead to own all People, Culture, Office, and Systems operations.

This is a standalone, high-ownership role with direct impact, working closely with the founders.

What you’ll do

Recruiting — ~20%
— Run end-to-end hiring using Ashby
— Partner with hiring managers
— Conduct first-round interviews
— Lead & improve onboarding (incl. technical setup)

Systems Administration — ~30%
— Own internal tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Personio, Ashby, HeyData, 1Password)
— Manage access, permissions, and security
— Oversee technical onboarding & offboarding
— Manage hardware through Fleet
— Build automations & improve workflows

People Operations — ~20%
— Maintain people processes, policies & compliance
— Coordinate payroll changes, benefits, and contracts
— Support performance cycles
— Serve as trusted partner for employees & managers
— Lead biannual engagement surveys & insights
— Host weekly Monday town hall

People Administration — ~20%
— Maintain accurate HRIS data
— Prepare contracts, letters, confirmations
— Support labor-law administrative workflows
— Ensure structured documentation

Office Management — ~10%
— Keep office functional & organized
— Manage mail, supplies, vendors
— Oversee daily office needs

Culture & Engagement (ongoing)
— Drive DEI, well-being, and engagement initiatives
— Lead annual Summer Offsite + Winter Onsite
— Support rituals and internal communication

What you bring

— 3+ years in People Ops, P&C, Office Management, Systems Admin or similar
— Strong technical affinity; love for tools, workflows & automation
— High ownership, structure, and prioritization
— Ability to support employees and managers effectively
— Solid HR fundamentals and compliance basics
— Excellent English & German (C1+)
— Berlin-based or willing to relocate

Nice to have:
— Experience with Ashby, Personio
— Startup background
— Automation tools (make.com, Zapier)
— IT administration / access management exposure
