What you will do

• Own and evolve internal developer platforms and toolchains to enable product teams to self-serve common needs.
• Drive adoption of modern productivity tools including GenAI integrations and platform engineering tooling.
• Implement automated quality gates, approval workflows, and policy-as-code for compliance and auditability.
• Standardize agile delivery practices and squad structures across product teams.
• Define and standardize delivery metrics and reporting to identify bottlenecks and measure improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align platform work, delivery processes, and controls.

Requirements

• Location: Must work hybrid with minimum 50% office presence in Manchester, UK.
• Proven leadership experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or developer experience functions at scale.
• Hands-on experience with developer portals (Backstage), CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps automation.
• Experience defining SDLC policies and translating controls into automated tooling for compliance.
• Strong skills in standardizing agile ways of working and governance across multiple teams.
• Data-driven mindset with experience using delivery and productivity metrics to drive improvements.

• Experience with GenAI tools like GitHub Copilot.
