What you will do
- Directly manage 2 engineering teams consisting of 3 to 6 engineers on each team.
- Run general team exercises including goal setting, check-ins, reports, and trainings.
- Conduct weekly 1:1s with all direct reports.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Agile Leaders, and Tech Leads to ensure team goals are met.
- Work with Directors to ensure teams execute projects aligned with organizational strategic needs.
- Provide career guidance and help engineers manage their career progression.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience directly managing engineers in a modern engineering environment.
- 2+ years of software engineering experience with knowledge of MVC architectures, modern web development practices, and common architecture practices.
- Demonstrated practical experience with modern cloud-based infrastructure.
- Positive experience with Agile development methodologies and practices (Scrum, Kanban, XP).
- Demonstrated experience with personnel management practices including goal setting, feedback, 1:1s, career guidance, communication, conflict resolution, and basic project management skills.
- Experience managing remote-first or distributed teams of engineers.
- A track record of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion on their teams and product.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, excelling at analyzing and solving problems using technology.
