Principal Data Product Manager (Data Governance): Defining and driving the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise data governance and master data management, ensuring trustworthy and accessible data for analytics, operations, and AI initiatives. Location: Remote-hybrid from the US (Boston, MA office option available). US work authorization required, visa sponsorship is not provided.

Salary: $200,000 – $260,000

What you will do

• Define the long-term product vision and roadmap for data governance and MDM, aligning with enterprise data strategy.
• Translate business, regulatory, and technical needs into clear product requirements for governance services.
• Partner with data engineering teams to design and implement scalable governance frameworks and MDM solutions.
• Lead the development of master data models and entity domains in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Establish and track success metrics for data quality, stewardship effectiveness, and metadata completeness.
• Collaborate with Security, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to privacy regulations and access control standards.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on data governance, data platforms, or master data management.
• Demonstrated success delivering cross-functional data initiatives that improved business outcomes and compliance.
• Familiarity with modern data stack architectures, including cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) and transformation tools (dbt).
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Experience defining and tracking product KPIs and using data for prioritization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Deep understanding of data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) and MDM best practices.
• Hands-on experience with MDM technologies (Reltio, Informatica MDM, Semarchy, Profisee) and data governance platforms (Collibra, Alation, Atlan, Ataccama).
