What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services using Node.js and NestJS in an event-driven, cloud-native environment.
• Shape core system architecture and make foundational technical decisions for long-term maintainability and scalability.
• Write clean, modular, testable code with a focus on test-driven development and automated quality assurance.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Mentor and guide teammates to uplift engineering standards and knowledge sharing.
• Drive delivery from idea to production with fast feedback cycles and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Must be located in Berlin, Germany with a valid work permit.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years with Node.js.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills; familiarity with NestJS or similar frameworks.
• Deep understanding of asynchronous programming, distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Passion for clean code, test-driven development, and architectural decision-making.

Nice to have

• Experience with frontend technologies like Svelte.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, or infrastructure-as-code.
