Senior Software Engineer (AI): Drive the architecture and development of high-performance services for generative AI features in Bing and Copilot with an accent on C#-based service layers, prompt engineering, and web grounding. Focus on leading workgroup project plans, improving performance and maintainability, and monitoring system availability and reliability at scale.

Location: This position is based in Mountain View, CA or Redmond, CA and requires in-office work 4 days per week starting January 2026. hirify.global (MAI) employees who live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. are expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

Salary: USD $119,800 – $234,700 per year (U.S. generally); USD $158,400 – $258,000 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area).

What you will do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements for scenarios.
• Drive identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms.
• Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish and improve performance and maintainability.
• Leverage subject-matter expertise to guide workgroup project plans, release plans, and delivery of new feature areas.
• Act as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers in monitoring and restoring system/product/service availability.
• Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends and technical solutions to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C#, Java, C, C++, JavaScript, or Python.
• Solid experience with C# and .NET development for high-performance, scalable backend services.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, or cloud-native development at scale.
• Experience with AI/ML systems, large language models, or prompt engineering in production environments.
