Salary: $131,000–$226,000 per year

What you will do
- Lead and provide direction for a distributed, remote-first backend engineering team.
- Own delivery and operational health of the Graph Engine services.
- Guide technical trade-offs for scalable, reliable, secure distributed systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations supporting customers and staff.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Customer Support to define roadmaps and strategies.
- Foster diversity, inclusion, and engineer career growth.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in the United States with hybrid work in Lowell, San Jose, or Austin.
- Must have ability to work without visa sponsorship.
- 2+ years people management experience in backend or data engineering.
- Experience with highly-available production systems and DevOps principles.
- Excellent communication skills and business acumen.
- Familiarity with remote engineering best practices and cross-team delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience with graph databases (Neptune, Neo4j, Dgraph) or graph data modeling.
- Knowledge of observability tools (Datadog, Instana, Honeycomb).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with data-intensive applications, Pub/Sub systems, ETL pipelines.
- Experience with HashiCorp products like Terraform or Vault.
