Data Scientist (Machine Learning)

TL;DR

Data Scientist (Machine Learning): Building and deploying scalable and impactful machine learning models for a unique online marketplace with an accent on real-time predictions and advanced data science techniques. Focus on exploring extensive mobile and web data to identify and tackle real-world business problems and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.

Location: This role is based in Amsterdam, with a hybrid work model. We offer an excellent relocation package for people living outside of the Netherlands.

What you will do

• Build production-ready, robust, and scalable machine learning models.
• Find data science opportunities by exploring extensive mobile and web data and applying machine learning and advanced statistics.
• Be pragmatic but also able to go deep into problems using expert ML knowledge.
• Work with cross-disciplinary teams (product owners, developers, UX designers, business analysts) to identify improvements and new ML use cases.
• Deploy scalable models using Kubernetes on cloud infrastructure for real-time, asynchronous, and batch predictions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an all-around data scientist.
• Strong quantitative background (statistics, ML, sciences).
• Fluent in Python and capable with SQL.
• Demonstrable experience deploying ML models in production serving real-time responses at large scale.
• Ability to effectively communicate about your models to a non-tech-savvy audience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, Recommender systems, PyTorch, Kafka, or nginx.
• Experience working on developing ML products for online marketplaces / ecommerce platforms.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and proven ability to extract meaning from very big datasets with little engineering support.
