Lead Software Developer (Fintech): Develop and maintain NYFIX Matching, a real-time post-trade processing SaaS product using FIX protocol, with an accent on fullstack development and financial technology. Location: Hybrid in Vancouver, Canada

What you will do

  • Participate in roadmap discussions, requirements review, and sprint meetings with stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and test new product features for NYFIX Matching.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, providing level 3 support including occasional after-hours calls.
  • Develop tools for deployment, onboarding, and support teams.
  • Research and implement technologies to scale the system.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • Location: Must be able to work hybrid in Vancouver, Canada
  • 10+ years of Java programming experience with JEE, ActiveMQ, Spring, Hibernate.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and extensive SQL skills.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Linux systems.
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.
  • BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related field.

Nice to have

  • Experience in financial services and fintech, including FIX protocol.
  • Experience building web-based SaaS interfaces using React or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with document-oriented databases and handling large data volumes for analytics.
