Spend Data Analyst

TL;DR

Spend Data Analyst: Cleansing, researching, and enriching complex data to provide insights for supply chain organizations in the energy industry, with an accent on data aggregation, normalization, and classification. Focus on evaluating categorized transactions, identifying misclassified content, and collaborating in an Agile team.

Location: Based in Mexico City, MX, with an expectation to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week.

What you will do

• Perform data extraction, manipulation, cleaning, analysis, and QA of large datasets.
• Research energy industry data and suppliers to accurately and granularly classify spend.
• Evaluate categorized transactions to identify misclassified content, redundancies, and ineffective categorization logic.
• Collaborate effectively within a self-managed Agile team environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in a relevant data analysis role.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills, including vlookups, pivot tables, and queries.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage large volumes of data and ensure quality throughout the process.
• Experience with data manipulation tools to solve complex quantitative problems.
• Proficiency in the English language required.

Nice to have

• Experience in the energy industry.
• Proficiency with databases and/or Talend or other ETL software.
• Experience in spend analysis.
• Some programming experience with Python or Java.
• Prior experience analyzing external datasets using Python, SQL, or visualization tools.
