Applied AI Engineer (AI)

Location: No general work location is specified. Candidates applying from Qatar must obtain the required residency and employment permissions, with visa application support provided for successful candidates.

What you will do

• Partner with public sector clients to understand operational challenges and define AI-driven solutions.
• Build and deploy end-to-end AI applications in production using leading AI lab and open-source models.
• Collaborate with data annotation specialists and cross-functional teams to create high-quality training datasets.
• Design and maintain evaluation frameworks for assessing AI model reliability and effectiveness.
• Participate in customer engagements, including approximately two weeks of travel per quarter.
• Share practical knowledge and help scale AI capabilities across the public sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of post-graduation engineering experience.
• Professional proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or C++.
• 2+ years of applying AI or machine learning in production, including deep learning, generative or agentic AI applications, or evaluation pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud-based machine learning platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong problem-solving, data-driven iteration, and written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Startup experience, particularly as a founding engineer.
• Experience building and deploying large-scale AI solutions.
• Proficiency in Arabic for language model-focused work.
