What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, setting goals and providing feedback and development plans.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define roadmap and prioritize projects.
• Develop REST services and integration components within a backend microservices architecture.
• Conduct architectural reviews and address technical debt to improve operational effectiveness.
• Contribute to hiring, training, and development of engineering team members.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Amsterdam
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with focus on low latency, distributed systems.
• At least 1 year of team management experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals; experience with Java or Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs, Kafka, distributed data storage, cloud platforms (GCP or AWS), Docker, Kubernetes.
• Operational tooling experience such as New Relic, StatsD, ELK, Datadog, Prometheus.

Nice to have

• Experience building payment gateway, acquiring or issuing platforms.
• Experience integrating local payment methods or card networks like Visa and Mastercard.
