What you will do

• Deliver high-quality C/C++ code within a real-time embedded environment.
• Bring up, debug, and validate firmware for actuators, sensors, and power distribution systems on the humanoid platform.
• Optimize firmware performance to meet specific product requirements.
• Develop Python test scripts to support robot calibration and test automation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with System Integration, Software Test, and Embedded Software teams.
• Contribute to CI/CD infrastructure integration and support hardware/software integration in the lab.

Requirements

• Graduate student, senior student, or recent graduate in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Availability for a minimum 10-week internship (1 to 2 terms preferred).
• Proven track record of extra-academic hardware/software projects.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Solid knowledge of computer architecture and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Experience with communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART) and lab instruments like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

Nice to have

• Experience with low-level communication protocol driver development, particularly Ethernet and CAN.
• Experience taking features or products from conception to completion with high ownership.
• Knowledge of motor control systems.
• Experience with the Bazel build system and Docker containers.
