What you will do

• Design, test, and debug software code independently
• Break down features into engineering tasks and collaborate with other engineers
• Work on game features and surrounding tooling
• Communicate effectively with game designers, artists, and engineers
• Follow best practices in software development lifecycle including code reviews and testing
• Take ownership of medium-sized features and coordinate cross-team delivery

Requirements

• Must reside in Japan during employment
• 3+ years professional software engineering experience (Japan-based) or 7+ years (overseas)
• Experience in video game industry (1+ year Japan-based, 4+ years overseas)
• Proficiency in C++, C#, and Go
• Conversational Japanese proficiency (JLPT N3 or above)
• English proficiency sufficient for technical communication
• Experience with Git or other version control systems

Nice to have

• Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal
• Understanding of 2D and 3D math
