What you will do

Lead technical direction and architecture for the Efficiency and Automation team ensuring scalability and maintainability.
Design, build, and maintain backend services and internal platforms focused on automation and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and deliver automated solutions.
Contribute hands-on by writing code, reviewing pull requests, and troubleshooting production issues.
Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
Promote best engineering practices including testing, CI/CD, and observability.

Requirements

Location: Hybrid work based in Belgrade, Serbia
3+ years backend software engineering experience with recent technical leadership or senior mentoring.
Expertise in Java or .NET; Rust knowledge is a plus.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL and writing performant SQL.
Understanding of distributed systems, background processing, messaging queues, and event-driven architectures.
Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, Docker, and engineering best practices like CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
Strong communication skills and proactive ownership mindset.
