TL;DR
Senior Engineer (Java/PHP): Building and optimizing large-scale financial systems and APIs for a European payment provider with an accent on scalability and engineering excellence. Focus on designing high-volume transaction systems, leading technical architecture, and improving payment product delivery.
Location: Milan, Italy. Relocation support is not offered for candidates outside of Europe.

What you will do
- Design and engineer large-scale systems capable of handling high volumes of transactions.
- Build and maintain APIs and services across various engineering teams.
- Lead technical initiatives from initial architecture design through to implementation.
- Resolve complex technical issues using a product-first approach and analytical problem-solving.
- Create comprehensive documentation to facilitate domain knowledge sharing and optimize processes.
- Own code quality and enforce engineering excellence and best practices within the systems.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in developing large-scale applications.
- Proficiency in Java or PHP, with a willingness to work with Java.
- Proven experience leading architectural decisions and delivering end-to-end solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex problems to various stakeholders.
- Must be based in Europe (relocation support not available for candidates outside of Europe).
- English: CV must be submitted in English.
