What you will do

• Lead and mentor the data engineering team, establishing best practices in architecture and operations.
• Design and implement scalable, secure data pipelines and data lake architectures.
• Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.
• Own ETL/ELT processes, data quality, versioning, and governance.
• Optimize data workflow performance ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime.
• Promote a data-first culture aligned with company growth.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid work from Barcelona or full remote within Spain
• Proven experience leading or mentoring data engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience designing data platforms in cloud environments (AWS preferred, GCP or Azure valuable).
• Proficiency with Kafka, Airflow, DBT, and modern data warehouses (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Advanced Python and SQL skills.
• Familiarity with DevOps culture, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Deep understanding of data governance, versioning, and quality control.

• Experience working with data analysts or BI teams and guiding analytics efforts.
