What you will do
- Lead and mentor the data engineering team, establishing best practices in architecture and operations.
- Design and implement scalable, secure data pipelines and data lake architectures.
- Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.
- Own ETL/ELT processes, data quality, versioning, and governance.
- Optimize data workflow performance ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Promote a data-first culture aligned with company growth.
Requirements
- Location: Hybrid work from Barcelona or full remote within Spain
- Proven experience leading or mentoring data engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience designing data platforms in cloud environments (AWS preferred, GCP or Azure valuable).
- Proficiency with Kafka, Airflow, DBT, and modern data warehouses (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Advanced Python and SQL skills.
- Familiarity with DevOps culture, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Deep understanding of data governance, versioning, and quality control.
