Senior Java Engineer

What you will do

• Improve and maintain the backend stack of the Advertise team.
• Deliver well-tested and scalable backend solutions.
• Collaborate with backend colleagues and other teams to uphold high-quality standards.
• Act as a sparring partner and mentor for team members.
• Share and debate best practices proactively.

Requirements

• Must be currently residing in Portugal.
• Solid understanding of APIs and contracts.
• Experience with microservices, domain-driven design, and event-driven distributed systems.
• Proven coaching and mentoring skills.
• Proficiency in Java and knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with message queues like Apache Kafka.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Good fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to reactive programming.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks and end-to-end testing.
