Location: Hybrid in Porto, Portugal. Relocation support is available.

What you will do

  • Lead a high-performing cross-functional agile team of 7-10 software engineers.
  • Collaborate with Product, Business, Architecture, and Data Science to shape the technical strategy for the Transport vertical.
  • Translate functional specifications into high-performance logical technical designs and code.
  • Manage team performance, set goals, and prioritize work to balance capacity.
  • Mentor team members to help them develop their professional skills and careers.
  • Take an active role in sourcing, hiring, and onboarding new technical talent.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in Java, OO design, and data modelling.
  • Proven experience with distributed, concurrent, and scalable systems.
  • Deep knowledge of system design, performance tuning, and performance engineering.
  • Ability to make fast, data-driven decisions and influence technical direction.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Porto, Portugal for a hybrid work model.

Nice to have

  • Experience with applied AI tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT for coding.
  • Experimentation mindset for integrating AI-driven solutions into development workflows.
  • Ability to leverage AI for debugging and streamlining development processes.
