What you will do
- Build and scale data services: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs impacting user product experiences.
- Collaborate on data architecture and models: Partner with engineering and analytics teams to optimize storage, workflows, and schemas ensuring consistency and scalability.
- Contribute to standards, quality, and governance: Build reliable, observable data systems with strong testing, validation, and CI/CD workflows.
- Performance tuning and optimization: Monitor and optimize data workflows, resolving bottlenecks and participating in on-call rotations.
- Develop reusable engineering patterns: Create scalable frameworks enabling self-service data capabilities for other engineers.
- Support cross-functional projects: Collaborate with Product, Analytics, and Machine Learning teams to meet data needs.
- Mentor and share knowledge: Guide junior team members and foster a culture of learning.
Requirements
- Must have 4+ years experience building scalable, reliable data pipelines and infrastructure in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong software engineering and backend systems skills including API and data service design.
- Expertise in Databricks, Spark, or similar distributed processing platforms.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Typescript, and strong SQL skills.
- Commitment to data quality, observability, testing, and monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset.
