What you will do
- Design and own core scalable systems for a large multiplayer live service game including progression, economy, crafting, and survival mechanics.
- Build interconnected gameplay systems reinforcing player choice, mastery, and emergent gameplay.
- Prototype, test, and iterate to balance survival challenge and fairness.
- Collaborate across content, engineering, and art teams to ensure system consistency and immersion.
- Use data, analytics, and player feedback to tune and maintain live game balance.
- Mentor junior designers and support live-ops and production for updates and expansions.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in the UK or able to work hybrid with onsite presence in Cambridge
- Proven experience designing and maintaining systems in live MMO or multiplayer survival games.
- Strong expertise in progression, economy, crafting systems, and MMO design principles.
- Analytical mindset combining data insights, player psychology, and design intuition.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across multiple disciplines.
