🦄 Description
Escape Velocity is looking for a Senior Gameplay Designer with strong scripting skills to help build and evolve core gameplay systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and balancing gameplay mechanics to ensure they are engaging, competitive, and fun. You will work closely with designers, artists, animators, and engineers on a fully remote team spread across North America, Canada, and Europe.

Escape Velocity is a fully remote studio focused on building a high-quality, long-term multiplayer experience, with a strong emphasis on autonomy, trust, and respect for players’ and developers’ time.

🚀 Responsibilities
• Develop and own multiplayer match mechanics and gameplay features
• Collaborate with designers, artists, animators, and engineers to document and implement features in-engine
• Use visual scripting tools to create complex and dynamic gameplay systems
• Iterate on gameplay through playtests, feedback, and live data analysis
• Work closely with leads and directors to translate game vision into concrete designs
• Ensure gameplay systems are balanced, scalable, and fun

📚 Required Skills
• 3+ years of experience working on a multiplayer or live service game
• At least one shipped AAA title
• Expert knowledge of game scripting
• Strong experience with Unreal Engine, UE5 preferred
• Solid vector math skills
• Passion for competitive gaming and understanding of modern multiplayer action games
• Strong creative and technical problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Experience working on competitive multiplayer titles
• Strong understanding of live game balancing and iteration
