Senior/Staff Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote anywhere in Canada; listed locations include Alberta, British Columbia, Calgary, Ontario, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Base salary: CAD 170,400–234,300 per year.

What you will do

• Design modular, scalable real-time data pipelines for very large datasets.
• Recommend, implement, and coordinate architectural improvements for big-data machine learning pipelines.
• Implement custom machine learning algorithms in low-latency environments.
• Build microservice architectures for training, inference, and monitoring thousands of machine learning models concurrently.
• Collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, engineering teams, and the CTO/co-founder.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of algorithms, software design, concurrency, and data structures.
• Experience implementing probabilistic or machine learning algorithms.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into actionable steps and complete complex projects independently or by coordinating others.
• Strong academic background in computer science or equivalent experience in a competitive, innovative technology company.
