Senior Software Engineer (Android) Team Lead (Fintech)

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex native Android applications for a leading payments technology company.
• Own feature delivery from requirements and technical design through deployment, ensuring performance, security, reliability, and business alignment.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, analysts, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders on feature designs and task breakdown.
• Coordinate team activities, prioritize work, and support timely delivery and team alignment.
• Guide and mentor developers, contribute to technical decisions, and promote consistent engineering standards.
• Conduct code reviews with 100% coverage, write unit and functional tests, and assist QA with automation tests.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Android development experience, including previous experience as a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or in a similar leadership role.
• Expertise in native Android development with Java and Kotlin, including Android libraries and integrations.
• Strong knowledge of MVVM and modern Android architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, including build obfuscation and encryption.
• Experience with encryption frameworks and utilities such as HTTPS, TLS, SHA-256, and Cipher Block Chaining.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, guide and mentor developers, coordinate team activities, prioritize competing tasks, and support technical decision-making.
• Experience conducting code reviews and maintaining engineering standards.
• Excellent communication skills for documentation, planning, and cross-functional collaboration, together with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, ownership, resourcefulness, self-motivation, and collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating third-party devices such as watches and payment terminals.
• Understanding of client-server full-stack architecture.
• Understanding of Pub/Sub and Producer/Consumer messaging patterns.
