Security & IT Operations Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $165,000–$219,000 for the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC metro; $150,000–$194,000 for Washington, D.C., Boston, Los Angeles metro, and Seattle; $149,000–$193,000 for Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, and other US metros. Equity and benefits are additional.

What you will do

• Run day-to-day SOC 2 compliance, including controls, evidence collection, access reviews, policy acknowledgments, training, auditor coordination, and remediation follow-up.
• Help consolidate hirify.global and Dagster compliance programs, select and configure a GRC platform, adapt controls, and reduce manual compliance work.
• Own corporate IT across Google Workspace, SaaS applications, onboarding and offboarding, employee support, and Mac fleet management in Rippling.
• Improve access management by maintaining request, approval, provisioning, removal, and documentation processes.
• Protect corporate systems through macOS and application updates, endpoint alert investigation, vulnerability remediation tracking, phishing response, and incident response.
• Automate recurring IT and compliance tasks using scripts, APIs, workflow tools, or AI and develop self-service requests.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience owning recurring SOC 2 activities and working with external auditors, or relevant auditing experience; ability to understand controls, evidence, and adaptations across systems and teams.
• Experience administering and securing corporate IT systems, including account management, onboarding and offboarding, and Macs managed through an MDM.
• Practical experience with patching, endpoint alerts, remediation tracking, phishing or suspicious account activity, and employee troubleshooting.
• Ability to automate recurring tasks with scripts, APIs, workflow tools, or AI, and explain an automation or useful improvement you have built.
• Ability to drive cross-functional work by establishing owners and deadlines, removing blockers, escalating appropriately, and ensuring completion and documentation.
• Comfort working in an environment where two companies’ systems and processes are still being consolidated.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Workspace, Rippling, or a GRC platform such as Vanta, Drata, or Thoropass.
• Familiarity with SSO, SCIM provisioning, or other automated account-access methods.
• Experience implementing or migrating an IT or compliance system, or improving a process involving several teams.
