Senior MES and Manufacturing Systems Integration Consultant (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Remote from Canada; must be available to start work between 6:00 and 7:00 AM ET for overlap with the France-based team.

Expected compensation: 120K, with final compensation determined by experience, skills, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Gather and document functional and technical requirements with process, quality, automation, and IT stakeholders.
• Design interfaces and data flows across historian, supervisory, MES, and SAP layers using ISA-95 principles.
• Configure, test, document, commission, and qualify manufacturing systems.
• Produce GMP and computerised system validation documentation.
• Provide second- and third-line support, perform root cause analysis, and improve architecture, data integrity, reliability, and scalability.
• Share knowledge with client teams and mentor junior consultants.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in at least three of four technology areas, with working knowledge of the fourth: Aspen InfoPlus.21 and APRM, Ignition, Siemens MES, or SAP Plant Connectivity.
• Experience configuring IP.21 tags, records, and plant-equipment data collection; supporting APRM batch records, genealogy, reporting, data quality, historian performance, and interfaces.
• Experience building and supporting Ignition projects, including tag providers, Perspective or Vision screens, scripting, databases, PLC integration, and OPC UA.
• Experience configuring and supporting Siemens MES electronic batch records, master batch records, recipes, workflows, integrations, go-live, and hypercare.
• Experience configuring SAP PCo agents, sources, and destinations and diagnosing SAP MII or SAP Digital Manufacturing connectivity, message flow, and mapping issues.
• At least 5 years in manufacturing systems, MES, or industrial data roles, ideally in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of GMP, data integrity principles, and computerised system validation.
• Strong understanding of OPC, SQL, and industrial networking concepts, with clear communication across technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent English, residence in Canada, and availability for Eastern Time hours are required. French is an advantage for roles based in Quebec.

Nice to have

• Experience with additional historians or MES platforms.
• Python, JavaScript, or SQL scripting for integration and reporting.
• Exposure to data science, analytics, or digitalisation initiatives using manufacturing data.
• Experience across the full MES lifecycle from design through go-live.
