Lead AI/ML Engineer

Location: Canada; remote from home with no daily travel requirement to an office

Salary: CAD 140,000–160,000 per year

What you will do

• Define the architecture and strategic development of high-performance AI/ML pipelines for complex enterprise initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and guide AI/ML engineers and data scientists while driving technical decisions and project delivery.
• Deploy, manage, fine-tune, and scale pre-trained and custom models, including LLMs, vision models, and Generative AI, in production.
• Turn research and data-science prototypes into resilient production systems, optimizing latency, performance, cost, and reliability across cloud and edge environments.
• Implement MLOps practices including testing, CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, logging, explainability, and maintenance.
• Align AI roadmaps with executives, product managers, clients, solution architects, data scientists, and software engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in machine learning engineering, software development with an ML/AI focus, or a related role.
• Expert knowledge of ADK and other agentic frameworks, with deep experience implementing agents in production.
• Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers, driving architectural choices, and managing project delivery.
• Expert Python programming skills and proficiency with ML/AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Hands-on experience deploying and fine-tuning advanced pre-trained models, including LLMs or similar Generative AI technologies, in low-latency production environments.
• Extensive experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in data engineering principles, ETL/ELT processes, and version control systems such as Git.
• Experience orchestrating complex ML pipelines with Kubeflow, MLflow, or managed cloud services; building scalable distributed AI/ML systems; and applying MLOps practices.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills across cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field.
