Senior Site Reliability Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; candidates in Hawaii and Alaska are excluded. Eastern or Central time zones preferred.

Annual base salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD.

What you will do

• Define SLOs, error budgets, alerting, quality signals, and reliability practices for agent APIs, streaming, and background workloads.
• Own AWS infrastructure including ECS on Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, Redis, Amazon Bedrock, and Terraform deployments through Spacelift.
• Build observability with Datadog, Coralogix, and OpenTelemetry, including token usage, provider latency, and cost-per-task metrics.
• Improve resilience through backups, restores, failover, disaster recovery targets, safe migrations, provider failover, quotas, rate limits, and rollout controls.
• Protect multi-tenant workloads with isolation, quotas, circuit breakers, AI security controls, audited permissions, and human approval gates.
• Lead incident response, on-call work, blameless reviews, game days, safe deployments, and cloud and model cost reduction.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering, including running multi-tenant SaaS in production.
• Strong AWS experience and Terraform at scale, using Spacelift, Terraform Cloud, Atlantis, or a similar tool.
• Experience building SLO-based alerting and observability with Datadog or similar tools; OpenTelemetry is preferred.
• Track record of leading incidents calmly and converting post-incident reviews into lasting fixes.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL operations, including backups, point-in-time recovery, performance tuning, and upgrades.
• Production-quality coding skills for automation and tooling.
• A least-privilege mindset and disciplined use of AI tools.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Contractor and Employer of Record arrangements are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience running LLM or AI workloads in production or strong interest in their distinct failure modes.
• Experience using AI agents for incident triage, runbooks, or infrastructure-code review while identifying when human review is required.
• Experience in regulated environments such as SOC 2 or PCI DSS.
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock quotas and inference profiles, policy as code, LLM evaluation, AI security tooling, or multi-region data residency.
