Senior Cloud Database Engineer (SQL Server)

Location: United Kingdom, Southampton; hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote each week.

What you will do

• Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, maintain, and manage multiple SQL Server databases in a 24x7 environment.
• Improve database and application performance through tuning and monitoring.
• Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
• Implement and maintain database security, replication, and SQL Server Availability Groups.
• Create, maintain, and monitor SQL, and complete other duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience maintaining mission-critical SQL Server databases.
• 5+ years of T-SQL programming experience.
• 2+ years implementing and maintaining database replication.
• 2+ years implementing and maintaining SQL Server Availability Groups.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical people, solve problems, and meet deadlines.

• MCSE, MCDBA, or OCP certifications.
