Quality Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

Location: Hybrid in Kraków, Poland, with 1 day per week in the office

Salary: 12,000–22,000 PLN gross per month on an employment contract.

What you will do

• Build and maintain automated testing solutions for marketplace platform services and shared components.
• Perform manual component and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and continuously improve test automation approaches, frameworks and standards.
• Create and run API, integration and end-to-end automated tests.
• Integrate automated tests into delivery pipelines and ensure coverage supports scalability, reliability and sustainability.
• Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders, identify quality risks early, and share testing knowledge.

Requirements

• Strong experience in test automation using Java and/or Kotlin, with hands-on use of Cucumber as a primary testing framework.
• Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining automated API tests for RESTful services, including practical knowledge of API validation tools such as Rest Assured.
• Experience or knowledge of event-driven architecture.
• Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test design, coverage and early defect prevention.
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work closely with backend engineers to ensure services are testable and quality is built in from the start.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and improving quality.
• Experience working in Agile environments and contributing to continuous improvement of testing practices and tooling.
• Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
