Senior Quality Engineer (Java)

Location: Hybrid in Kraków, Poland, with 1 day per week in the office

Salary: 19,000–26,000 PLN gross per month on an employment contract

What you will do

• Develop, maintain and optimize automated test scripts and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and execute manual tests for scenarios not covered by automation.
• Perform back-end, API, integration and regression testing to validate functionality, performance and stability.
• Manage defects, testing scope, estimates, test coverage and the full testing lifecycle.
• Present test results and product-readiness insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and DevOps engineers in an Agile environment while improving testing practices.

Requirements

• Leadership experience in QA team management, prioritization and allocation of QA activities with the Project Owner.
• Extensive Java experience for test automation, including JUnit or TestNG.
• Expertise in integration testing of REST services with RestAssured; knowledge of WireMock and experience with Kafka.
• Experience with CI/CD environments, including GitLab pipelines and Docker, plus Git and Merge Request processes.
• Knowledge of Jira, Xray, test case management and test reporting or metrics tracking.
• Deep understanding of test automation strategies and experience designing, implementing and maintaining scalable test frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of software quality principles, Agile methodologies and continuous testing practices.
• Experience collaborating with developers, product managers and DevOps engineers; ability to define quality vision, establish testing strategy and drive quality initiatives.
• Problem-solving skills and excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Pact, Gatling, Lighthouse, JMeter, Allure Report or DataDog.
