Principal Nuclear Engineer (Control Systems)

What you will do

• Lead the design, integration, testing, validation, and commissioning of advanced nuclear control systems.
• Review and approve system architectures, designs, specifications, technical documentation, and quality deliverables.
• Translate client requirements into functional and non-functional specifications while ensuring compliance with client and international standards.
• Lead technical discussions, troubleshooting, system testing, project closeout, and recovery planning.
• Manage project resources, expenditure, budgets, timesheets, bidding estimates, and technical sign-off.
• Provide line management, coaching, mentoring, client engagement, and technical leadership across software, hardware, workshop, and project management teams.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of systems engineering experience, including application of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
• Technical expertise with relevant software packages, including SCADA, PLC, and HMI packages.
• Experience with system integration processes, tools, technologies, software development, and hardware integration.
• Experience working on client sites.
• Understanding of project management principles, including cost control and client management.
• Basic understanding of contractual and commercial requirements.
• Experience with quality management systems, processes, procedures, and standards; regulated-industry experience is required for certain specialisms.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills for collaboration and client interaction.
• Ability to provide technical solutions during bidding, estimate delivery time, and demonstrate effective leadership and management.
